Dr Jonathan Ravat
Director of ICJM (Institut Cardinal Jean Margeot)
Thank you
Dear friends and supporters of ICJM in Australia,
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your dedication and unfailing support over the past
years. As you know, the Institut Cardinal Jean Margéot (ICJM) was set up by his Eminence,
Cardinal Maurice E. Piat, Bishop of Port-Louis in 2009.
On the 22nd of September 2024, we celebrated 15 years of existence. Through the past years, we provided
training and support to individuals called up to serve in the Church and in Mauritian society at large.
Our endeavours are geared towards the holistic development of individuals. We focus on the
empowerment and growth of those who benefit from our training and programmes, so that they can
personally evolve and have a positive impact on society.
As we celebrate our achievements during the past 15 years, we look forward to reinforcing our actions
by planning to reach out to people in different regions of the country. Some of our priorities include the
training of social workers or leaders, who can foster changes in the life of others, especially those facing
poverty, drug addiction and other social evils.
In addition to this, we shall not fail to extend our support to people who suffered from the loss of a loved
one and consequently enduring harsh times. Focusing on training programmes and activities which
create bridges between people of diverse religions or cultures comprises of the list of non-exhaustive
objectives for the coming year. Some of these activities or workshops will be addressed to youngsters,
aiming to develop the feeling of togetherness, which is essential for the reinforcement of the social fabric
of Mauritian society.
Your support and financial help are precious to our Institute. This enables us to offer training and
activities at a reduced cost, hence allowing individuals at walks of life to be trained.
Rest assured of our profound commitment to persevere in serving Mauritian society towards integral
human development.
With my sincere thanks & God bless you all,
Jacques Jonathan Ravat
