Dear friends, supporters of our training Institute in Mauritius,

 

I would like to thank you for your dedication and financial support for our training projects. ICJM (Institut Cardinal Jean Margéot) was erected by His Eminence Cardinal Maurice Piat, bishop of Port-Louis,
Mauritius in 2009. The objective of our Institute is to give an integral training in matters of
theology, sociology, anthropology, intercultural and interreligious studies for a better society.
Our aim is to give a solid formation where all Mauritians, specially the poorest, can interact
and commit themselves to our Church and our country. Since its foundation, ICJM trains
teachers, counsellors, social workers, catechists, lay people in pastoral fields. We are
preparing the future by proposing training for leaders in our Church and society.

Every month we give conferences on themes linked to our social and political context.
During this year 2022, while the police was alleged of torturing some people who were
arrested, ICJM invited the community to debate on the subject and we then sent to the
government and all parliamentarians and legislators some proposals to tackle this huge
problem.

Though our action is a drop of water in the ocean, we are convinced that it is important. It is
our humble contribution for a better society.

I know I can count on you to support us. I’m grateful for your action. I pray for all of you and
